Human Flu Pandemic

stethoscopeThe government is convinced that there will be a human flu pandemic - although it does not know when. It estimates that between 25% and 50% of the population of the UK will be affected. Between 50,000 and 750,000 people could die during the expected three to four months’ duration of each wave.

Schools will be badly affected and need to establish emergency plans now. The DfES has published detailed advice on Teachernet at: www.teachernet.gov.uk/humanflupandemic

Please also see further information provided by QGP in document GM10 Human Flu Pandemic.
