Additional Information to be provided about Individual Pupils

job descriptionThe Education (Individual Pupil Information) (Prescribed Persons) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 (which came into force in July 2006) extend the scope of information about pupils which may be provided by what are called 'information collators' to 'prescribed persons' and 'persons falling within a prescribed category'. This includes:

  • information relating to individual pupils specified in the Schedule to the Education (Information about Individual Pupils) (England) Regulations 2001;
  • educational achievements of pupils in any National Curriculum assessment at or near the end of the final year of KS1, KS2, or KS3; and
  • educational achievements of pupils in any external qualifications.

The persons, and categories of persons entitled to receive information about pupils includes:

  • FE institutions; and
  • Persons providing services to young people as part of the Connexions Service, Primary Care Trusts, work-based learning providers, and persons conducting research into educational achievements of pupils who require individual pupil information for that purpose.
